Featured Guest "Me, Myself and Music Highway"

So, originally Emily from "Loveless" was suppose to be featured post for this week. BUT... Emily has decided not to blog for awhile. I respect her decision and will miss her.

SOOOOOO... You all are stuck with a fill in guest... MEEEE!!!! :) :)

I started my blog "My Music Highway" in January of this year... Although, I had originally started blogging back in August of 2005 with a little blog called "Girl on the Blog".... For those of you who "know" me... you already know how much music means to me. It is in my blood and no matter how hard I try to leave the music world... I can not.

For me... as I have heard from many others who are participating in this project... this has been a hard decision to pick just one song... BUT... I have...

1) What song has truly inspired/touched you? (Name of Artist and Song please)

One Tin Soldier
(by Lambert-Potter, sung by Coven)

Listen, children, to a story
That was written long ago,
'Bout a kingdom on a mountain
And the valley-folk below.

On the mountain was a treasure
Buried deep beneath the stone,
And the valley-people swore
They'd have it for their very own.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

So the people of the valley
Sent a message up the hill,
Asking for the buried treasure,
Tons of gold for which they'd kill.

Came an answer from the kingdom,
"With our brothers we will share
All the secrets of our mountain,
All the riches buried there."

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses! Draw your sword!"
And they killed the mountain-people,
So they won their just reward.

Now they stood beside the treasure,
On the mountain, dark and red.
Turned the stone and looked beneath it...
"Peace on Earth" was all it said.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

2) How did it inspire/touch/ or change you?

I was a teenager when I really FIRST heard this song. I mean REALLY FIRST "HEARD" it. The words touched me so... It was during the time of the Gulf War and I had family and friends over seas fighting... for a cause (at the time) I wasn't so sure about. I had lost 1 family member during the war and had no clue how to handle the pain. Well, somehow (I can't remember how) this song "fell" right into my lap and I listened for the FIRST time to its words... its beautiful and precious words. For some reason, this song has always stuck with me... it reminds me every time I hear that no matter what... violence and hate are never the answer!!!

3) What is one thing you wish for the future generations?

I wish so much, that my son and those after my son have a world that they are not afraid to live in. A world they can trust... with leaders they can trust... And because of our men and women in the military... I have faith they will lead the way on this path...

4) What is one "Project"/ "Charity" that is dear to your heart?

Soldiers Angels... I can't say enough about this group of well... Angels...

...and the music plays on!!

If you think long and hard about it... music is a language that everyone speaks. Without divisions and barriers it brings us together as one. No matter what type of music you prefer... it is music. Wouldn't it be nice if we all could ride down the "Music Highway"... just to know that we, for one moment, could have a sense of togetherness?

WHY NOT have a "sense of togetherness"? It is so very true that music is a language EVERYONE speaks. This world has to much hate... So... Let us travel down a different highway... a highway of music... so we... for one moment can have a sense of peace... together. I started this project not knowing how well it would take off. Thanks to some wonderful bloggers... it has taken off beyond words. Click here for more info.
